Our Story

Okay, this is a story me and my girlfriend wrote,if you want to see more of it tell me in the comments. P.S Tuesdays post will be about TWD (the walking dead)

Chapter one:
Every family has a secret, one they must keep hidden for many years. With certain members of my family, they’re different. They’re born a certain way. Some of your features can look weird, like being born with pink hair. Dye it all you want, you still know it’s under all that paint. Other times, maybe your eyes are different, but this doesn't always happen. Now having weird features is not our secret. The part that can drive you insane is perhaps being hugged. Some of us can’t be hugged by the opposite gender. We turn to an animal if we do. Now, I am not saying we are beasts. We still can talk and have control over ourselves.
Many parents deal with their child like this. With this… curse, but others can’t deal with their son or daughter being a--a freak. That’s something I learned with the ones who transform. Their parents are either over protective or simply abandon them. It happens to half of us, being abandoned. You’re considered a lucky one if your parents want you.
My mother knew I was different instantly. The ones who transform are usually born two months premature. My mom couldn’t deal with it. The first time she held me close, and then saw me transform, it broke her. Yes, I am one of them. When I am hugged by a girl, I turn into a cat.
My mother couldn’t bare it. I was young. I didn’t understand what was happening. One day, I chose to follow her. She was going to the head of the family. He controls us, makes the rules. You can’t do anything without his permission. She told him she wanted her memory erased, any that included me. He asked if she regretted anything. She replied with: “The only thing I regret is having that thing !”
A few days later, I was explained what was to happen. They asked me if I would like my memories removed as well, but I denied it. I didn’t want to grow up living with lies. No matter how bad a memory was, I wanted to keep it. I always wanted to be normal. Can a normal person get their memories removed just because they hurt them too much? No. You can’t always take the easy way out of things.
My mom, dad, and older sister had all memories erased of me. They see me and think I am just another kid roaming around. The head master built a wall covering only the land that we own. He says we must protect ourselves. We are blocked from the outside world. We have to accept the truth.
The truth I accepted is that I am fifteen. I have been living alone since I was five. Ten years ago, my whole family chose to forget me. I am a freak who turns into a cat, and the worst part is that I am not the only one this happens to.

Chapter Two:
“Hey Ronald!” a voice yelled, causing me to stop reading. I was sitting at my favorite spot under a big, beautiful tree on a bench. It was pretty close to the wall, so sometimes I could hear the voices of nearby walkers. When I turned, I found myself face-to-face with one of my closest friends.
“Hey Mel. What do you need?
“Let’s play a game! I am so bored of this place, and you’re my only hope,” she said poking my side.
Melanie has always been a mystery since the first day she came… She is the headmaster's daughter yet he never “hooked up” with someone. Plus, the headmaster is twenty-seven. Melanie is fourteen, meaning he would have been fifteen when he had her. When she appeared, I asked around about her. Everyone claimed they had never seen her. I even asked in the orphanage, there was no information. Nobody still knows where she came from. Besides she does not have many friends… Everyone fears the headmaster, and since she’s his daughter they fear her to. Nobody talks to her and if they do it’s super polite with nervous smiles. So I am her only friend. The headmaster is one of those protective parents.
I slid away from her so she could not poke me again.
“Sure, what you have in mind?” I said with a cordial smile.
Melanie shrugged “I don’t know. I didn't think we’d get this far” She smile “Besides dad said you're a bad influence sooo let’s do something insane!” This ought to be fun.
“Why not,he already hates me. Lets go and skate!”
Melanie’s eye’s filled with glee. “Okay, lets go!” She said grabbing my hand and pulling me along to her house. I started to run and the trees flew by. The hot grey concrete shooting under our feet.Dust was flying in the air. As we passed some people's houses, they started giving us looks. We just ran on, not caring what other people thought of us. For in that moment, we were free. Not thinking about the walls that constrained us to this misery. We slowed down in front of her house. As we came to a stop it ended, the moment has passed and we were back in reality.
“I don’t think he’s home” Melanie said catching her breath. She slowly unlocked the door, and walked in. Her dark brown eyes looked around. “Coast is clear” She giggled.
I stood at the entrance, waiting for her to come back with the rollerskates she secretly got. “I FOUND THEM!” she yelled,
“Shhhhh” I said cautiously
She covered her mouth,
“Oopsie” She slipped the skates on once we were outside. Quickly she grabbed my shoulder for support. We probably looked funny. Melanie is smaller than me by a lot.
“Promise me you won’t let go this time” She said poking my side, again.
“Promise me you won’t make me fall on my bum again.” I said with a quick smile. Then we shot off, going faster than before. What we were doing now made running look like child play. Mel started to wobble,so I grabbed her arm and steadied her. The people out side could not even tell it was us, we shot by so fast. When we came to a turn I tried to turn to fast, and I slipped and went head first into a small green bush. Mel was standing in the middle of the road, laughing at my mistake. As I stood up and looked at Mel she stopped laughing and smiled.
“MELANIE!” A voice yelled “What do you think you are doing?”
I turned my head to look who it was, I could see Mel’s face change not much anger just frustration. It was the headmaster.
“I am just having some fun” Melanie replied now looking at the headmaster
“You could have gotten hurt!” The headmaster said
“Well I didn’t and will not get hurt...you can go now.” Melanie turned to me “You okay goof? I thought cats were agile yet gentle… guess the gentle part I got wrong.”
“Melanie?! I am speaking to you” The headmaster said now with more anger in his tone.
“And I am trying to live a normal life… looks like you can’t get everything you want”
Melanie is the only one who can talk to him like that. It’s like she’s his kryptonite.
“I think you should go” I quietly said
Melanie rolled her eyes and turned herself, she began skating to her house. I knew exactly where she was going. When she was feeling to strong of an emotion and she trying to fight the transforming part she goes on the top of her roof just to lie there.
The headmaster’s stormy grey eyes glared at me. The hate and anger in his eyes was impossible to see. He started to open his mouth, as if to yell at me, but he just closed it and walked past me. I honestly thought he was going to strike me as he passed. He started walking after mel. Shaking his head and muttering under his breath.

I decided to go home myself. As I unlocked the front door I could stop thinking the way the headmaster looked at me. Why does he hate me so much? I would think being his daughter’ only friend would actually be a nice thing. I sighed as I looked into the mirror. For me my hair was normal, but my eye’s were gold with streaks of black. Even in the dark you can probably see them. It’s like they glow in the dark, shining beacons telling everyone where I am. It’s fine most of the time. When I’m trying to sneak out and have some peace, someone always sees me and calls the headmaster to tell him I’m out past curfew. I don’t even know why we have one. There is nothing dangerous out there. Just a few stray cats that might scratch me, but I’m good with cats. Most of them like me, I just ignore the ones that don’t. I started to walk into the kitchen so I can get something to eat, but when I came to the window there was a cat sitting on the windowsill. The cat looked at me with sorrow in his eyes. The cat was a rundown little thing. It’s fur was matted and dirty. It’s teeth was yellow and cracked. It looked me in the eyes and said to itself,”Oh goody, another human coming to kick me out in the cold…”. The cat stood up,as if to leave, but before it could I said,
Wait! Don’t go!”  The cat turned around and looked at me.
“Oh,what? This one is different. It’s nicer and it’s not trying to kill me with a broom!” The cat sat down, looking at me. Waiting.
“Of course I’m not going to try and harm you! I love cats!” I said with a small smile.
“HOLY SMOKES! Can he understand me? I thought it was a myth!” The cat said in shock.
“Myth? What myth?” I replied to it in confusion.
“Well,my good hybrid, there was a myth going around that there was a human that can understand us! Well,I have now found out that it is not a myth!” The ragged cat looked at me with wonder in his eyes. He blinked and bent down to lick his dark black coat,he snuck a glance up and said in a small voice, “ummm….uhh. I w-was looking for s-some place to stay for the n-night. Is it o-okay for me to stay here?”
“Of course! Stay as long as you need! I don’t have a big place, but you are welcome to stay. May I know your name?”
“My name?”
“Your name, you know, what people call you.”
“Well….I have never had a home, so….I don’t have one….” My eyes widened at that. I started to ponder on what to call him. My eyes landed on the scar above his eye. It was shaped like a moon.
What about Solar? You have a scar shaped like a moon…” The cats eyes widened and he looked shocked. “ I mean,If you want. That does not have to be your name.”  I started to tell him but he cut in,
“NO! I love it! No one has ever given me a name before! Thank you!”
Your welcome.” I told him with a smile. “It’s late and I am about to go to bed,you can sleep on the couch”  Solars eyes clouded with uncertainty. “That thing”, I said as I pointed to it.
All that for me?!?” Solar exclaimed.
“Umm,yes.” Solar jumped onto the couch, instantly falling  asleep. I started walking to my room, so I can sleep. I got to my bed and was out like a light.

“I didn’t ask for a pet! I wanted a son!” My mother yelled
“You can’t just treat him like dirt just ‘cause he’s different” My dad yelled back
My mom turned. “ I will be going to headmaster Mason, and Eric tomorrow. I don’t want any memory of that thing and I will be taking Julia with me to. She doesn’t need to remember anything about it. Come if you want”
“Mary...are you sure you want to do this? What will happen to him? He’s still young.”
“I knew this day was going to come from the first time I held him in my arms. I don’t care what happens to him...I can’t live with him in my life!” Tears trickled down her face
“Very well. If thats what you want”
